Vung Tau has been a resort city since the French colonization and is a holiday spot especially during weekends. Meanwhile, Ba Ria is a port city which is strategically located at the south of Vietnam.

There will be three days of Vietnam’s First International Seaport Festival in Ba Ria Vung Tau. It will go from 10th November 2012 until 12th November 2012. This festival is organized by the People’s Committee of Ba Ria Vung Tau with the support from Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and CAT Binh Minh Joint Stock Company.

This festival will be marked by 10 big international participants and local seaports as well. The theme for this festival is “For Peace on the East Sea” and there will be various activities conducted according to Mr. Ho Van Hien, the vice chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.

During the opening ceremony, there will be a special performance of light technology with the theme, “Light Garden”. Also, there will be a Friendship Golf Tournament for the guests and delegations. The funds collected from this tournament are for “Beloved Spratly Island”. There also will be forums and conferences to discuss development plans for the Vietnam seaport and also a seaport city. Besides that, the conference will talk about investment, construction and the management plans for the port and seaport city.

Besides conferences and meetings, there will be an international musical show with the title, “Hello Vietnam Sea” and visitors also can visit nearly 300 exhibition stalls by local and international members. Visitors may gain information about seaports, shipping and logistics companies.

For visitors and delegation members, there are numbers of hotels and resorts in Vung Tau to cater to accommodation needs. It is hoped that by having this First International Seaport Festival, it will bring bright opportunities for traders and logistic business players in the market. Besides, this festival also hopefully will contribute to economic, political and social growth.
